Today in class, in small groups we brainstormed ways to make the media more trustworthy. We first individually wrote down anything that came to mind regarding products or processes that can help make civilians have more faith in the media. Then we came together and grouped our ideas into similar pools. Lastly, we sorted through the groups and picked out the best ideas and mashed them to one which we called the “Trustworthy Pro”. Our concept is a computer program that is automatically installed on your computer web browser that performs a variety of tasks to help make the internet more trustworthy in its content. The ‘Trustworthy Pro” fact-checks articles, includes “deep fake” detection, enforces media laws, validates authors and sources, and detects plagiarism. Our process would be easy to widely implement because it would be automatically installed on all major web browsers.
